Daflew and I are interested in developing promo photos for threshold. Is there anyone on this list that would want to participate in this activity? We’ve found these photo shoots to be very effective in creating the mystique that has become associated with the Threshold event.
The idea for the photos are to give perspective to our patrons on what type of “look” we’re trying to create for the threshold event. In this case, we’d pull together clothing and props that illicit the feel of the depression-era. So, for men’s clothing: cap hats or wide brim fedoras, suspenders, long overcoats, excessive use of hair product. Women: period hats, gowns or long dresses (need to research online) hollywood style applique of make-up and accessories, such as feathers and long overcoats with huge fur collars (key).
We may go black and white, for effect. But, perhaps not – depends on where we end up getting the shots taken. The idea is to do both hi-definition video as well as digital stills. These we will use to create very targeted promotional maraketing products for the event. The pictures will eventually be made available for everyone to use in whatever way they want. We got some fantastic shots from last year that were very popular with the kids. The shoots can be a lot of fun, for those of you who are inclined to play dress up.
If you want to participate in the 1st of 2 shoots, we’re meeting at my house this Sunday afternoon at 5pm. The more the merrier, as far as we’re concerned. We’ll get our duds and drink on and head out to the shoot location from there. After we’re done, we can roll back to the house, laugh for a while and soak our cold selves in the tub. The photo shoot will likely be a two hour commitment.
I’m particularly interested in “couples” that want to be a part. Obviously, we can always manufacture the couple for the shoot. It’d be nice to have real ones though. I’d also love to get some of the BRB folks over for this photo shoot.
Email me if you have an interest kdbalmer@yahoo.com so I know who to expect.
