But in my own case, while I've said conclusively I'm not going, I did buy a ticket (money in the bank, of course, then if at the last moment I HAVE to go, you know ...). Mostly I want something new, whenever I go next, either in the form of a new project, some new throwdown, or a new smoothie of peeps to work with.
So I like the post - gives readers an idea of who they might want to approach.
so yeah. I bought a ticket, I'm dicking around with new el wire stuff, and when i go to costco I think, Ought I buy this for burning man? - but I'm not going.

Lighthouse, if your interested in camping w/ the puzzle you should have a sit down w/ someone whom you feel close to in the camp, it's historically been an invitation deal so go hustle yourself and invite. I'll be doing somthin' else this year myself time to reinvent the beast!

last year i decided one month beforehand to go. prior to then i was totally up in the air.
so when i did decide to go, i really knew i wanted to go.
rather than deciding way beforehand and then sort of later feeling unsure but already obligated and then going cuz it's not from your heart but because you probably should cuz you told people you were gonna and you bought a ticket and cuz you're gonna help hold the stick that keeps the thingie upright that needs to be at the super fun time event thing on the schedule...

i decide when i feel ready to decide

if everyone just jumps on board mere weeks/days before the burn then who is gonna put all that cool stuff together and hold the stick???

You all saw the Burning Man flier only a mother could love, didn't you? In "Behind the Music: Burning Man" this is when the drugs, sex and rock and roll send Burning Man to rock bottom where Burning Man has to re-evaluate it's life and become a volunteer for meals on wheels.
